Bonn Conference for Global Transformation: Sustainability Reloaded
The sustainability conference in Bonn will bring together international experts such as Jeffrey Sachs, Ed Gillespie and Claudia Roth, along with other individuals who are breaking new ground internationally with their start-ups.
Bonn, 4 May 2015. Organic lettuce grown in a London Underground tunnel, an app that helps Kenyan dairy farmers to improve their livestock breeding techniques, and an Indian school that trains grandmothers as solar technicians using sign language: on 12 and 13 May 2015 some of the most prestigious international sustainability experts will gather at the Bonn Conference for Global Transformation along with individuals who are as yet barely known in Germany, but who have launched some unique projects. These people are living proof that sustainable practices are being implemented creatively right across the world.
Over 50 speakers are due to appear at the new conference series, including:
- Jeffrey Sachs, Special Advisor to United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
- Claudia Roth, Member and Vice President of the German Bundestag
- Vandana Shiva, 'Alternative Nobel Prize' winner and member of the Club of Rome

About the Bonn Conference
The Bonn Conference for Global Transformation is an international conference series organised by the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The Bonn Conference will focus on the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals. It will take place every two years in Bonn, starting in 2015. The conference series is supported by strong partners: United Nations University, the Sustainable Development Solutions Network and Deutsche Welle.
